Theses

Planètes et naines brunes autour d'étoiles chaudes.

Abstract : In the frame of the search for extrasolar planets, this thesis innovates and focuses on the search for extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs around A and F dwarf stars, hotter than these stars. I developped a new method for radial velocity measurements, that I tested and applied in the frame of a survey with the spectrographs ELODIE and HARPS, which lead at the moment to the detection of two planets and one brown dwarf, and to numerous candidates. I also developped diagnostics of the presence of pulsations and activity modifiyng the stellar surface and the radial velocities measured. Besides, I also performed this search with another method, the direct imaging at high angular resolution, complementary to the radial velocity method, using the instruments PUEO and NACO. The candidate companions detected have to be confirmed. This search will allow to characterize planets and brown dwarfs around A and F-type stars, and the impact of the stellar mass ont the formation processes.
