Matrice de résistance et description du mouvement d'une particule en interaction hydrodynamique et conséquences du confinement asymétrique sur les phénomènes de transfert

Abstract : The hydrodynamic interactions are often neglected in the transport of the particles due to their complex nature. At high concentrations, these interactions induce a discrepancy between the kinematics of the particles and the non perturbed fluid contrary to the commonly admitted assumptions. Nowadays, only extensive numerical computations (DNS) may solve this sort of problems. We have thereby developed another approach based on the generalized resistance matrix and we have applied it to the transport of a confined cylindrical particle. Concerning the sedimentation, it falls faster in an asymmetrical position. The study related to the kinematics of this particle in Poiseuille flow confirms the non validity of the hypothesis as mentioned above. Finally we have studied the transfer phenomena on the cylinder and according to the boundary condition, the flux can either be reduced or increased.
