Méthode de raffinement de maillage adaptatif hybride pour le suivi de fronts dans des écoulements incompressibles

Abstract : The purpose of this work was to simulate multi-scale and multi-phase flows. In such flows, the main numerical difficulty comes from the numerical diffusion induced by schemes. Given the fact this diffusion does not depend on the chosen mesh, the use of a very fine one enables us to obtain accurate solutions. However, this approach
is very costly in time and memory. As a result, an adaptive mesh refinement method (AMR) has been developed in order to follow either interfaces in two-phase flows or concentration of a pollutant
in one-phase flows, accurately. This method has also been optimized to reduce time and memory costs. Several 2D and 3D cases have been studied to validate and show the efficiency of the method.
