Etude de la stabilité et des émissions polluantes des flammes turbulentes de prémélange pauvre à haute pression appliquées aux turbines à gaz

Abstract : Lean premixed combustion is commonly used to decrease the pollutant emissions in energy production systems, but it leeds by strong instabilities. In order to study these instabilities, we designed a turbulent gas turbine combustion chamber close to an industrial configuration operate on natural gas. The chamber, pressurized up to 5 bar, has two radial inlet air injection : secondary and dilution air. The premixing is created by an injector with an axial swirl and a bluff body. The instability study was carried out for several parameters: inlet temperature of air, flow rate, equivalence ratio, angle of the swirl, presence of a pilot flame, position of primary dilution air and presence of a divergent nozzle. For each configuration we measured the velocity field, pollutant emissions, CH* chemiluminescence and dynamic pressure. The aim result show that the role of the secondary injection air are important and complexes for the flame structure and dynamic in the combustion chamber.
The pressure and CH* temporal spectra showed several fluctuations which we classified in three categories:
- Low frequency fluctuation created by combustion instabilities
- The convective fluctuation which frequencies depend only on the flow rate
- The acoustic fluctuation which frequencies depend only on the temperature of the flow.
The local study of the CH* chemiluminescence shows that the fluctuations is locate differently in the reaction zone. The time lag model, which predicts the favorable conditions for amplification of a convective fluctuation, was applied locally in the reaction zone. The result shows that we can predict the position and amplitude of the convective fluctuation in the reaction zone for different power or inlet temperature. Nevertheless, this model is limited by the interaction between dilution air and reaction zone.
