Etude expérimentale de la contribution des sources d'origine thermique à l'émission acoustique des jets supersoniques

Abstract : The object of this thesis is to investigate the influence of temperature on the noise radiated by supersonic jets.
In a first part, the effects of temperature have been tested on the noise radiated by five different jets with the same jet velocity at different temperatures (Acoustic power, directivity and spectral analysis). Moreover, the influence of jet temperature on the efficiency of noise reduction by means of water injection in the exhaust jet have been studied.
In a second part, mean and fluctuating temperatures in jets are investigated. Therefore, we develop a two beams Schlieren system based on the measurement of angular beams deflexion across the flow. The mean temperature is obtained by the Abel transform using the Gladstone approximation. Fluctuating temperatures are estimated by statistical processes on beam deflexion. This method is first validated in subsonic flow, where Schlieren data are compared with those obtained with classical probe. Finally, the Schlieren method is applied on jets approaching spatial launchers conditions. In the case of perfectly expanded jets, results are compared with computed data.
