Iteration post-Newtonienne du champ de gravitation d'un systeme isole en Relativite Generale

Abstract : In order to find the track left by a gravitational wave in the noisy data of one of the forthcoming detectors (VIRGO/LIGO), it is mandatory to know precisely the shape of the wave. General Relativity determines this shape but the equations are too complex to be analytically soluble in an accurate manner for dynamical systems such as neutron star binaries which are the most promising sources of gravitational waves. We have thus resorted to approximation methods. In this thesis, we studied the post-Newtonian approximation method (perturbative expansion in 1/c) in the framework of General Relativity. First of all, we studied this approximation from a general point of view in order to prove a theorem stating, under certain hypotheses, that post-Newtonian expansion of the gravitational field of a self gravitating isolated source can be iterated to all orders in 1/c, what had not been done until now. We prooved this development matches to all orders with an exterior solution, valide in particular at infinity, ans satisfying no-incoming radiation condition. Secondly, at Luc Blanchet's instigation and in collaboration with Gilles Esposito-Farese, I have been interested in the problem of the post-Newtonian energy up to 1/c^6 of a binary system of extended compact bodies. Among other problems, we are interested in the calculation of an unknown coefficient at the 3PN order due to the lack of fulfilment of regularisation methods used so far. To solve this problem we have tried to calculate this energy for extended bodies taking into account their internal structure. We present possible reasons for the indetermination, the method and the problems raised by the finite extension of the sources.
