# Modélisation et simulation du comportement de particules dans des écoulements de fluides confinés : application aux machines de semis

Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to bring a numerical solution to problems related to seed drills, particularly in the transportation of the grains inside the tubes. In the first part, we describe the bidimensional case in equations, focusing on the stage of transportation of particles. We choose a Navier Stokes model in the incompressible case in order to represent the behavior of the fluid and the equations of the classical Newtonian mechanics for the particles. For the limit and interface conditions, we choose, among the models, the most recent ones that can be found in the literature. The second part is focused on the search for equilibrium positions of particles inside an infinite straight tube. Our goal is to know if, in certain settings, the particles maintain their distance during the movement. We work on the stationary case and for a very small Raynolds number in order todetermine the existence and unicity of the $N$ particles problem. A numerical approach, with the aid of the solver FreeFem++, is made in the case of two particles with the aim to determine these positions as well as their stability. The third and last part is again a numerical study, still with the solver FreeFem++, on the evolution of equilibrium positions when we change certain limit conditions. In order to model the real-life situation as accurately as we can, we consider some roughness in the interface moreover we assume that the turbine powering the pneumatic system applies a pressure on the fluid and not a velocity.
