Du sensible vers l'insensible : étude sémiotique de la perception du monde chez Le Clézio

Abstract : This study belongs to the lexical field of the semiotics of perception. It helps to better understand the descriptive theory of literary works. It deals particularly with the method of discourse, and the process of conveying meaning. This method ranges from the perception of a sensitive and visible object to that of an insensitive and non-visible one.The perception of the world -which this work accounts for –singles itself out by the very way it invites the reader to grasp the meaning of things. The way Le Clézio figure sees things is in itself anappeal to see the world under its different aspects, that is to say in its insensitive dimension too. This new perception enables us to see beyond what we can immediately feel or see with our ordinary senses or with our naked eyes.Being and doing then become an invite to watch closely each being and thing in order to see what is true and quintessential about them. The sensitive universe then appears to us like a skylight or lens through which one can have access to, or grasp the insensitive dimension of the world where lies one’s quiddity. And this can be attained through introspection, meditation, and contemplation. This can be possible only if one shuts up it own inner individual language and let himself or herself be penetrated by the object or desire of the other. This seems to be the approach chosen by the Leclezian figure here.
