Synthèse, caractérisations structurales et optiques de verres tellurites pour l’optique intégrée : étude du comportement sous champ électrique de verres riches en alcalins

Abstract : This work aims to understand the generation of a second harmonic (SHG) signal in tellurite glasses using thermal poling. Three ternary systems: TeO2 – WO3 – Na2O, TeO2 – GeO2 – Na2O and TeO2 – ZnO – Na2O have been studied. They present locals structural changes allowing to highlight the influence of the glass structure on the SHG. TeO2 – WO3 – Na2O system presents Te-O-Te bridges, TeO2 – GeO2 – Na2O has Te-O-Ge bridges and TeO2 – ZnO – Na2O has a less polymerized vitreous matrix which means a lower proportion of Te-O-Te bridges. SHG has been characterized using the Maker fringes method. An inhomogeneous signal and directed in all directions has been measured. μ-SHG imagery highlighted a second harmonic signal in the form of hot points, Raman imagery didn’t show any structural changes that can be linked to this hot points. Specular reflectivity and secondary ions mass spectrometry confirmed these results. Characterization of electric properties has been performed to identify charge carrier in our glasses. Electronic conductivity seems to prevail which would explain the absence of departure of Na+ ions.
