Contes « féminins » et transferts médiatiques : perspectives culturelles et pédagogiques

Abstract : Based on a corpus of European fairy tales from the 17th-19th centuries, Neapolitan tales by Giambattista Basile (1634-1636), French traditional and salon tales (Charles Perrault, Madame d'Aulnoy, Mademoiselle de La Force and Madame Leprince de Beaumont) and German tales by the Brothers Grimm (1812), the objective of this thesis is to show the interest of the didactic exploitation of film adaptations of classical tales highlighting "female" characters and itineraries with secondary and high school classes. The displacement of the written tale into other media invites us to question the renewal of the tale as a work for the general public and on the new readings and interpretations of the source story that accompanying these creations. Our didactic reflection on the text-image-screen network is based on a comparative method. The students are more familiar with pop and media culture than with the original tales, which invites us to reverse the diachronic process :starting from the familiar cultural productions of young people to help them discover written tales, to make them think about the processes of adaptation that put scholarly culture and popculture in tension, through a theme that is likely to affect them, that of female roles and models. Our pluridisciplinary approach, in resonance with school programs, makes students aware of the plasticity of the fairy tales in a contemporary media context marked by practices of generalized "transwriting" (André Gaudreault and Thierry Groensteen 1998), transfictionality (Richard Saint-Gelais 2011) and serial creation (Matthieu Letourneux2017).
