Approche expérimentale-numérique basée sur la résistivité électrique pour l'évaluation de l'état hydrique du Douglas-fir

Abstract : Moisture is a major factor that influence the service life durability of wood-based structures. In order to establish an optimal and reliable diagnostic of the hydric state of these structures, this work proposes on the use of a Non Destructive Testing (NDT) approach based on the electrical resistivity measurements. The aim of this work is to develop a mixed experimental-numerical approach to evaluate the wood moisture content (MC) in Douglas-fir wood. Therefore, a parametric study was set up to analyze the effect of some operational and material variables on resistance measurements. An experimental protocol was implemented to evaluate spatial distribution of MC in wood element. Electrical resistivity measurements on a timber construction are also presented to highlight the experimental strategy concerning in-situ monitoring.
