Frittage Ultra-Rapide Pixélisé

Abstract : The PIXUFAST project presents a first study of a new and original sintering technique, called Pixelated Sintering. This technique is developed by the GALTENCO Solutions Company, in partnership with the Institut de Recherche sur les Céramiques (IRCER) and the Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux (ICMCB). Its name alludes to the heating elements (pixels) placed around the sample and which can be controlled independently of each other offering an active thermal gradients control. The delivered energy on the sample is then optimized and the thermal losses are limited. As it has similar heating ramps as field assisted techniques (˃100°C/min) like Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) or the microwaves sintering, it can be classified as a rapid or ultra-rapid sintering technique. This classification is obtained by the comparison between pixelated sintering, conventional sintering and non-conventional sintering (SPS) on ceramic materials: alumina and zirconia.
