Non-linéarité optique au sein des matériaux oxydes inorganiques (tellurites, borophosphate de niobium) et d’échantillons biologiques

Abstract : The quantitative description of nonlinear optical phenomena requires knowledge of the response of the propagation medium to an excitation by a very intense optical field. The knowledge of this response is done through the determination of the nonlinear susceptibilities of the material. In this framework, this thesis presents a method for measuring second and third order nonlinear susceptibilities of inorganic oxide materials and biological samples. This method is based on the use of wavelength-multiplexed coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (M-CARS) and the exploitation of the non-resonant background noise that it systematically presents in order to determine the electronic component of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of the material under study. This approach is then applied to nonlinear multimodal imaging.
