De l'objectivité à l'histoire : émergence de la problématique ontologique chez Lukàcs

Abstract : Our work is devoted to the latest writing by the German-speaking Hungarian philosopher G. Lukács (1885-1971), "Ontology of the Social Being" (1964-1971). It is a question of attesting the continuity of Lukács's thought despite its sometimes spectacular breaks and to show that "Ontology of the social being" is an integral part of the fabric of his thought. Presupposing the dialectical unity of thought Lukács, we show that the emergence of ontological issue was initiated by his discovery of the 1844 Marx’ Manuscripts in Moscow in 1930 but it was built in an underground way by the through aesthetic problematization, focusing on the notion of objectivity. It is only belatedly that Lukács works expressly to the drafting of an Ontology of the social being, and following a double break since it is after having decided to interrupt his work on the Aesthetics, for to devote himself to the project of an “Ethics”, which Lukács considered necessary the development of an ethics. All this raises the question of this latency of the ontological problematic, and leads us to formulate the idea according to which the ontological problematic of Lukács is in fact an ontological, that is to say also historical prospective. His intention is indeed to revive Marxism after his Stalinist ossification by formulating the basic philosophical principles of Marxism. From this point of view, "Ontology of the social" being is not so much a point of arrival, as a point of departure, and consequently of its fundamental historicity.
