La poétique de l'idiotie dans l’œuvre théâtrale de Valère Novarina

Abstract : If for Valère Novarina "L'organe du langage, c'est la main" [Chénetier-Alev, 2013], it revives according to several fields of investigation with the phenomenal fruitfulness of the Word as initiated by the theologians of the high Middle Ages, among which Nicolas de Cues and his meditation on the wisdom of the idiot. An idiocy that we propose to dialogue with the novarinian work from writing to his actions on the actor and the subject-viewer. A phenomenon that we will specify as an encounter with the « Other » whose shock comes back to ethics as the first philosophy [Lévinas, 1986] and join "the old wisdom of ignorance" [Grozdanovitch, 2017]. This idiocy is then defined as "word of poetry" erected against the capture of the human and his word. Valère Novarina puts this into play in the scenic space the architectures of the poem and offers us, from writing to its "traverses" by the actor, a free speech leading to the infinite individuation of the subject-spectator. Our progress will allow us to observe a craft of writing that Valere Novarina says practice as "cure of idiocy" [Novarina, 1991], an expression that we then extended into poetics of idiocy to study the declensions and the stakes until, at the end of our study, we come to the conclusion that, through the novarinian work and access to the word of the subject that it keeps on renewing, "we are not spectators"[Novarina, 2002].
