. Regattieri, Moles (Talpa) mainly occur in diverse forest or grassland habitats in temperate and Mediterranean regions, where they excavate their subterranean galleries in soft and deep soils. T. romana is adapted to drier habitats than T. europaea. European Wood mice (Apodemus) generally inhabit forested and bushy habitats in temperate and Mediterranean regions. Pliomys is a fossil genus of Mediterranean affinity, but it seems to have had a high adaptive plasticity and is probably more related to open habitats than to precise climatic conditions (Desclaux, 1992), magnetic susceptibility. Results are correlated with VV1 profile (this study) on the basis of key layers (archaeologic ed in relationship with the Sulmona Sul-5 isotopic curve, 1999.
