Élaboration de composites énergétiques à base de nanodiamants, étude des propriétés réactives en fonction de leur morphologie

Abstract : Nanodiamonds (NDs) are associated with an energetic material to achieve safer handling of secondary explosives. Due to its heat dissipating property, ND is a promising and novel candidate for desensitizing applications. Experimentally, NDs are used in the process as crystallization seeds for core-shell growth. Coated by a layer of crystalline secondary explosive, the NDs are supposed to constitute the inner constituent of a core-shell type material. Three preparation methods are compared: physical mixing, slow evaporation, Spray Flash Evaporation process. Only the last method leads to core-shell particles. In the presence of NDs, the energetic material is highly desensitized towards external stimuli such as impact, friction, shock and electrostatic discharge, which reduces the probability of an accidental decomposition. Moreover, reactivity of the composite (detonation velocity) is maintained in comparison to the pure material.
