Les "marnes bleues" à nodules barytiques du Gargasien et de l'Albien de la fosse Vocontienne (sud-est de la France) : étude géochimique et minéralogique‎. Héritage, diagenèse, hydrothermalisme

Abstract : The Gargasian and Albian levels of the Vocontian Basin (South-East of France) consist of dark marl denominated "Marnes Bleues". They contain in many points, barytic nodules which have been studied by PAILLERET (1983). A mineralogical, granulometric and geochemical study is carried out on ten sections, of different geographical situations and ages. The mineralogy of clays is dominated by inheritance, and it allows to differentiate three periods. - Gargasian - Lower Albian: illite is dominant; - Middle albian: smectites take precedence over illite; Upper Albian: Smectites still dominate, but a significant proportion of kaolinite appears. These observations are compared with those of BROSSE (1982) on the Gargaso-Albian black shales of the Central Atlantic.
