, Étude complémentaire : tôle fine en Fe-N

, Ce traitement thermique de revenu a pour objectif la formation de ?''-Fe16N2 à partir de ?'-Fe8N1-x. Le procédé de fabrication suivi est très proche de celui qui a permis la mise en évidence de l'existence de la phase ?

, en configuration ?-2?. L'appareil employé est le même que celui qui a servi à la caractérisation des couches minces (cf. chapitre 2). À noter que les optiques utilisées, pour ces échantillons massifs, Caractérisation structurale La structure cristallographique des tôles fines (Fe et Fe-N) a été sondée par diffractométrie de rayons X (XRD)

, Pour la tôle constituée de fer et d'azote (nitrurée, trempée et recuite), on observe de nombreux pics de diffraction indiquant la présence de différentes phases du système Fe-N (pouvant avoir plusieurs orientations cristallines) (figure A1-F1). Étant donné, d'une part, la très faible visibilité de la plupart des pics de diffraction, et d'autre part, la possible superposition de pics dus à des phases différentes, il est impossible de tous les identifier avec certitude. Malgré tout, certains pics particuliers (qui correspondent à des plans cristallins appartenant à une seule phase) révèlent a priori l'existence des phases ?-Fe, ?'-Fe8N1-x (x = 0) et ?'-Fe4N dans l'échantillon. Néanmoins, la présence de ?-Fe ne peut pas non plus être exclue. Concernant la phase ?'-Fe16N2, sa présence ne peut être affirmée en l'absence de pics distinctifs, ) et (310) de la phase ?-Fe, dont le paramètre de maille est celui du fer massif (non contraint) (figure A1-F1). Ainsi, les cristallites ont plusieurs orientations au sein de la tôle. Néanmoins, les intensités relatives de ces pics ne sont pas celles de cristallites orientées aléatoirement

, automobile où les machines électriques doivent supporter des températures assez élevées

. Enfin, étude des propriétés magnétiques des phases ?'-Fe8N1-x et ?''-Fe16N2, l'approche suivie dans cette étude complémentaire

, apparait moins pertinente que celle suivie dans l'étude principale (couches minces)

, La transformation martensitique étant difficilement totale, de l'austénite résiduelle est généralement présente dans ce type d'échantillon. De manière générale, la présence d'autres phases du système Fe-N est problématique pour les mesures magnétométriques

, De plus, l'absence d'une unique orientation cristalline pour la phase étudiée et l'absence de substrat quasi-monocristallin servant de repère compliquent l'étude des anisotropies magnétiques
