Modélisation continue de la rhéologie des suspensions et de la migration

Abstract : The problem of modelling suspensions arises from geophysical or industrial concerns, such as mud flows. Many experiments show that reference materials present non-trivial behaviour. This is why we focus on the case of non-colloidal mono-disperse hard spheres suspensions in a Newtonian fluid. Firstly, we revisit the mathematical modelling of a continuous suspension model. Then, we introduce a new rheological model including a texture tensor that enables to reproduce quantitatively both transitory apparent viscosity profiles during shear reversal and microstructure deformations observed in simple shear. Finally, we extend this model in order to predict migration phenomenon.
