DEPNET : une approche support au processus de gestion de conflits basée sur la gestion des dépendances de données de conception

Abstract : Engineering design has increasingly become a collaborative endeavour carried out by multiple actors with diverse kinds of expertise. It is characteristic of collaborative engineering design that precedence relationships among design activities contain information flow dependencies. Due to multi-actors interaction, conflicts can emerge from disagreements between designers about proposed designs. Indeed, each actor works on different parts of the design, from different perspectives and towards fulfilling different functional criteria.
In this research work, we are in deed focussed on these conflicts, and in particular on conflict management through negotiation. We propose the DEPNET (product Data dEPendencies NETwork identification and qualification) approach to give support to the conflict management process; which is based on the management of the dependencies among the data handled during the design process. These shared and exchanged data between different actors are the essence of the design activity and play a significant role in the design process progress.
This approach brings in methodological elements to (1) identify the negotiation team to be responsible for conflict resolution, and (2) to manage the impact of the chosen solution after the conflict resolution phase. The implementation of the findings of this research work is represented through the DEPNET prototype software which is validated on an industrial case study resulting from the design of a turbocharger.
