Metal-free synthesis and characterization of functionalized polyaminoboranes

Abstract : The reactivity of the diisopropylaminoborane in the presence of primary and secondary amines were studied. This reactivity depends on the chosen operatory conditions and the outcome of the reaction can be controlled by the stoichiometry and by the temperature. The diisopropylaminoborane shows itself as an efficient "BH2" transfer reagent. The reaction pathway is investigated by a full mechanistic study, with the help of a theoretical approach. The control of the reaction by the temperature allows the obtention of polyalkylaminoboranes. These polymers were the subject of a deeper study, involving their synthesis, characterization and synthetic potential.
