Accès à l'Information par un Système de Filtrage Collaboratif Contrôlé

Abstract : The development of information technology allows large amounts of information are available to everyone. In order to help in the discovery of interesting documents, tools like Filtering Information Systems are developed. These systems provide users a stream of documents, without having to explicitly express what they want, unlike Retrieval Information Systems where A question must be asked each time. By contrast, the Filtering System must know the interest of users (profiles) and follow their evolution over time. This is possible thanks to the user evaluates the documents provided by the system. Filtering Systems generally require the active participation of users to achieve good performance; Thanks to their evaluations, users adjust their profile. Collaborative Filtering explicitly involves a community through mutual support: each member of the community receives documents that other members have found interesting. For this, it is important that each user regularly gives his point of view on the documents sent by the system, because the performance of the system depends on the behavior of all users: a user who does not contribute to feed the system sees fall the efficiency of the system not only for itself, but it also for others! This situation is a brake on the effective, efficient and long-term use of Collaborative Filtering Systems. In order to prevent users from perceiving the evaluation as annoying, the Filtering System must be provided with quality control. Our goal is to define and implement such a control system, which based on data extracted from the Filtering System, during operation, builds quality indicators. These indicators will help identify problematic situations and suggest actions to ensure the efficiency of the system. We propose a method to define a quality evaluation model, which we call EMQUSE (Evaluation Method for Quality in Use), based on a qualitative aspect: user satisfaction.
