Inverse Methods for heterogeneous conductivity reconstruction and thermal data completion
Two complementary inverse problems related to non-destructive thermal testing
are investigated in this work.
First, data completion associated with the Cauchy problem is analysed in the
framework of the algorithm proposed by Kozlov. A detailed numerical analysis of this
algorithm with spectral collocation methods has lead to different improvement in the
convergence speed as well as a better understanding of the convergence limitations.
Next, a second inverse problem related to the reconstruction of heterogeneous
two-dimensional conductivity field has been studied. A Lagrangian formulation of
the problem is investigated. A Lagrangian mesh is built from different thermal maps,
onto which a semi-analytical computation of the conductivity is obtained. The numerical
implementation of the problem has been carried out so as to validate the
method and investigate its limitations.
