APPLICATION DE LA METHODE DES SINGULARITES AU CALCUL DES STRUCTURES SUPERCAVITANTES EN THEORIE NON LINEAIRE.

Abstract : The present study made it possible to develop an iterative procedure of non-linear calculation super-cavitating structures. The pressure coefficient at the leading edge of the structure is obtained with a high degree of accuracy, which is essential for the forecast of the cavitation domain. In 2D flow the case of the super-cavitating wing with wet upper side is treated and the method makes it possible to determine the point of separation of the cavity at the upper side. The calculation of the wing with a completely non-wetted upper side is treated. The case of the very short cavities is obtained with a high degree of accuracy. These three problems had never been solved before. In 3D flow, for span wings, a specific matric resolution was developed. It is a blocks Gauss Seidel method, each block inversed by the Householder procedure (Schmidt orthogonalization). The method requires significant computing times but the indications which it provides will be able to make it prefer with other methods less time-consuming but not making it possible to have such a precise description of the flow. A particularly interesting field of application was that of the sub-cavitating structures with partially cavities originating from the leading edge. The results are very accurate and compared with experimental values.
