Nouvelles approches pour la caractérisation d'électrodes poreuses pour la réduction de O2: des structures modèles à base de platine aux structures exemptes de métaux nobles

Abstract : This work focus on the development of new approaches for the characterization of porous electrodes dedicated to the O2 reduction. They are established through the elaboration of model porous structure formed by controlled combination of platinum electrocatalyst grafted with organic component and carbon nanotubes. Two new methods have been established: firstly, an alternative method to use of rotating electrodes for the determination of the selectivity of the O2 reduction; secondly, the determination of a specific surface area of porous electrode named S-AO2 which is directly related to the O2 reduction and which can be expressed in m2/g of catalyst, in cm2/cm3 of active layer or in cm2/cm3/g of catalyst. A determination of this parameter has been established on platinum-free porous structure based on nitrogen doped nanotubes, for which a study of the active sites for the O2 reduction is also presented.
