Abstract : In this PhD, we took up the problem of network stability. We first developed an online method that defines stability indicators for any flow of messages observed. We then focused on flows of alarms, the study of which currently constitutes an important issue for the stability of future networks. A method of creating a statistical correlation graph of alarms has been developed and we showed that applying the stability indicator method provides additional useful information. In a second part we focused on the definition of the parameters of networks. We started by using a time Petri net to represent the behavior of the OSPF protocol. Afterwards, a heuristic has been created to find the optimal definition of some parameters that affect the arrival of messages in the network. We used simulations of time Petri nets to observe the effect of the heuristic on the behavior of OSPF. Finally, we studied networks where servers follow fixed priority policies, using network calculus theory. We defined a linear program that computes the maximal delay bounds for any topology, given the arrival of messages in each flow and the service capacity of each server.
