Charles de Villers et l'Allemagne. Contribution à l'étude du Préromantisme européen.

Abstract : Charles de Villers (1765-1815) is a precursor of Madame de Stael, who discovered by the way of emigration Germany's cultural risources and tried to make them known in France. He prepared the way to french Romanticism. This study shows his way from a French 18th century man to a German enthusiast and how his image of Germany looks like. Charles de Villers was also one of the first comparatists.
