M. Le, une lettre d'intention soumise à la collaboration ALICE au début 2013. L'ensemble de ce travail a été réalisé par la collaboration ALICE-MFT que je coordonne depuis 2011. Les détails de toutes les études présentées ici peuvent être trouvés dans la lettre d'intention [73]. Le projet a été approuvé lors d'une réunion du conseil de la collaboration ALICE le 21 mars 2013. L. Dans-le-contexte-présenté-au-paragraphe-précédent and A. -. , Muon propose l'ajout d'un trajectographe interne en amont de l'absorbeur hadronique, afin de surmonter les limitations du spectromètre actuel et de développer les capacités uniques de l'expérience ALICE d'étudier les sondes muoniques du QGP à grande rapidité Ce projet nommé Muon Forward Tracker (MFT), s'inscrit dans le cadre des améliorations de l'expérience ALICE devant être installées durant le « Long Shutdown, LS2) du LHC prévu pour 2018. L'amélioration des détecteurs existants couplée au développement d'un nouveau trajectographe interne (ITS) ont été présentés et approuvés par le LHC Committee (LHCC) en septembre, p.2012

M. Le, Le 21 mars 2013, l'ensemble de la collaboration a approuvé le projet MFT, trouvant le cas de physique proposé par ce détecteur suffisamment fort et intéressant pour le présenter au comité LHC (LHC Committee, LHCC) Dans les mois à venir, un addendum à la lettre d'intention de l'amélioration d'ALICE [79] déjà approuvée par le LHCC, sera rédigé et présenté au LHCC à l'automne 2013. Durant l'évaluation du projet MFT, la collaboration ALICE a noté la forte synergie au niveau technologique existant avec le nouvel ITS.
