Ferrofluides et mousses liquides : structure, élasticité et dynamique

Abstract : This manuscript is devoted to an investigation of morphology and physical properties of two complex fluids: ferrofluids and liquid foams. First, we focus on the patterns formed in a system containing a ferrofluid. We study the effect of a magnetic field on the pattern. We next consider liquid magnetic foams, in particular how their physical properties can be controlled by a magnetic field. Then we focus on experimental measurements of the rheology of complex fluids at a local scale. Eventually, we investigate the mechanics of liquid foams at the scale of the bubble: vibration of a soap film and elasticity of a soap film junction.
