L'objectif principal est de mesurer le paramètre de corrélation angulaire (a ?? ) dans la décroissance bêta de l' 6 He 1+ avec une précision relative de l'ordre de 0.5% ainsi que la probabilité de shakeoff associée. Une déviation entre les valeurs expérimentale et théorique de a ?? mettrait en évidence l'existence de courant tensoriel dans l'interaction faible ,
6 He 1+ dans un volume très petit presque au repos afin d'avoir une source aussi bien définie que possible. Les particules bêta et les ions de recul issus de la décroissance sont détectés en coïncidence par un dispositif placés autour du piège. Ce dispositif est également sensible aux différents états de charge de l'ion de recul et permet aussi de mesurer les probabilités de shakeoff, Ces dernières et a ?? sont déduites à partir d'une comparaison entre les données expérimentales et des simulations Monte-Carlo réalistes du spectre en temps de vol des ions de recul effectuées avec les codes Simion et Geant4. L'ensemble des distributions experimentales mesurées permet de contrôler les effets systématiques principaux ,
