Étude expérimentale du comportement dynamique d'une éolienne offshore flottante soumise à l'action conjuguée de la houle et du vent

Abstract : This study deals with an experimental simulation of the dynamic behaviour of a floating wind turbine under simultaneous wind and wave loads. For that purpose, we developed a new experimental device which allows wind generation on the ocean engineering wave basin of École Centrale de Nantes. Aerodynamic qualification of this wind generation system shows us a low level of turbulence and good spatial homogeneity. It also enables the generation of low frequency fluctuations by variable speed control of the fans. In a second phase, a scale model of a floating wind turbine was designed with a 1:50 length scale, following methodology specific to this kind of study. This scale model has then been studied to obtain its dynamic behavior under wind and wave loads. Influence of wave directionality and of low frequency fluctuations, typical of an offshore wind, will also be presented in this thesis. Results of these tests have finally been compared with a numerical model developed at LHEEA Lab. In parallel, tests results were also compared with a simplified approach replacing the rotor by a disk to validate or not this type of simplification.
