Couplage thermomécanique dans les Alliages à Mémoire de Forme : mesure de champs cinématiques et thermiques et modélisation multiéchelle

Abstract : The increasing use of SMA for complex applications, requires a deeper understan- ding of the phenomena governing their behavior. The strong thermomechanical coupling resulting from the martensitic phase transformation is a key point. The work presented herein is devoted to the experimental study and modeling of this coupling. Full field measurements (DIC or IRT) are key tools for studying heterogeneous thermomechanical behavior. The first part is devoted to the development of InfraRed Image Correlation, which measures in a single analysis kinematic and thermal fields discretized on the same finite element mesh, from a single IR record. It is applied to the analysis of a tensile test on NiTi SMA. This tool is relevant for the study of all kinds of phenomena thermomechanically coupled. In a second part, a multiscale and multiaxial model is built, that describes the behavior of a RVE from the physics of martensitic transformation on the scale of the crystal lattice. It is based on the comparison of the free energies of each component, without topological description. A probabilistic comparison is made (Boltzmann distribution) to determine the internal variables : the volume fractions. Interactions at the interfaces are not taken into account. This model simulates of all kinds of thermo-mechanical loading. It gives account of pseudo-elasticity and tension / compression asymmetry. A 1D model of uniaxial tension is finally presented. First, a thermal model and a phenomenological mechanical model has been developed. The simulations account for the diffuse transformation and the localization. It puts in competition the two transients generation and heat dissipation, it reproduces the relationship linking the num- ber of transformation bands to the strain rate and thermal boundary conditions. Work was initiated to couple this thermal model and the monocrystalline multiaxial model.
