Améliorer la compréhension de l'oral en chinois langue étrangère : quelles compétences développer et avec quel scénario de formation hybride ?

Abstract : This thesis aims to observe and identify important elements in the listening process of Chinese as foreign language. It also attempts to determine appropriate teaching methods to improve a blended learning programme designed to strengthen listening comprehension of learners at the A2 level in the LANSAD (Languages for students from other disciplines) department. To achieve these objectives, we performed a first experiment in which we identified key listening skills. Then, in a second experiment, we deepened our observation of one of the findings obtained in the first experiment: scaffolded interactive listening. In this learning situation, pairs of learners carry out listening activities with a native speaker. When they encounter a problem, they can seek help from the native speaker. Our research is part of the field of linguistics, and more specifically the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. This study is a continuation of other research projects that have highlighted the relevance and usefulness of taking into account micro-language skills and the strategy of inference in the process of listening. The study focuses on specifics of the Chinese language, especially the role of written representation while listening. At the same time, inspired by previous research on interaction and acquisition, on interaction among learners in pairs or in small groups, on blended learning, and on asking for help, our study aims to observe the characteristics and effects of scaffolded interactive listening between learners and native speakers.
