Sciences de gestion et psychanalyse : Lacan, l'imaginaire et l'organisation high tech

Abstract : The first chapter presents different perspectives in order to position my publications in different academic journals (French independent agency : AERES, spider diagram and Google Scholar). The second chapter deals with marketing of innovative telecommunications services. I present the results of a hundred of applied market studies. I then show how an assessment can be done for two co-tutored Masters and PhD in management sciences. Then a question emerges. Why is the market so often fetishized while service innovations process in the high tech industry have often invented markets that did not exist before : mobile services, internet, social networks. Chapters 3 and 4 are more theoretical. The question is what about "rationality inside organizations". Is rationality a kind of rule or on the contrary an exception in high tech organizations ? If the rule is an exception, research must then define what paradigm could be used for treating such an exception. Sociology proposes answers in line with Durkheim and Weber. One can reduce organizational anomie thanks to social sciences. It is certainly not wrong, but sociology is attached to the fact that the social world is divided while the social actor is or could be unified. On the contrary, Psychoanalysis postulates that an individual subject is divided and that the social world is (relatively) consistent. In any case, the social word represents the symbolic law without which no social bond would be possible. Chapter 5 presents observations and interpretations on a large European telecoms operator. The research question is related with the master-signifier which is usually the key of the structure-culture coupling in this type of business. Why ordinary managers have they suddenly been allowed by the management and the system of signifiers of a high tech organization to implement processes to sider with symbolic violence some of their employees? Chapter 6 situates my research in relation to recent works in the Lacanian perspective on organizations. What subjective position for a director of information systems? Was Lacan a homophobic and patriarchal theorist ? What could be the use of Lacanian concepts in critical marketing and Human Resource Management? What is the current production of articles in the Lacanian field of management research? Last but not least, I propose to apply one of the four fundamental concepts of Lacanian psychoanalysis. That concept is the "network of signifiers" in high tech organization. Some examples in the field of mobile telecommunications services are used.
