Les Ecoles Normales Supérieures d'Education Physique et Sportive et l'Institut National des Sports : étude comparée des établissements, du régime de Vichy à la création de l'I.N.S.E.P. (1977)

Abstract : The E.N.S.E.P.S. and I.N.S., training schools of the executives of physical education and sport have similar, complementary and sometimes conflicting destinies. These complex relations have their origins in the assigned missions : training of sports teachers for E.N.S.E.P.S., training of sportsmen and sports instructors for I.N.S.. The relations between these different training centers are strongly marked by the transformations of Sports and Physical Education. They reveal power interplays and stakes between administration, actors of physical education and sport and pressure groups when it's a matter of delimiting the scope of physical education in relation to sport and also a matter of defining a university and research course of formation. This comparative study puts forward the pragmatism of state as far as the organisation of formations in physical education and in sport is concerned.
