Analyse de la rupture et évaluation de la durée de vie basée sur la fiabilité des tubes en polyéthylène pour le transport du gaz

Abstract : The objective of the first part of this research is to highlight the statistical laws that adapt to fatigue failure of gas pipelines in polyethylene. The results indicate that it is recommended to use the Weibull distribution with two parameters for evaluating the reliability of these lines for the design phase because of their conservative appearance. The second part is a new contribution to the analysis of results of fatigue cracking in these tubes in terms of energy parameters based on the irreversible work and the speed of propagation. The transition from brittle to ductile is well described by critical energies obtained for different fatigue loads. Finally, the reliability and maintenance optimization of polyethylene pipes are approximated by studying the effect of temperature and pressure on the probability of failure. It shows that the effect of uncertainties in temperature and the model of life is more important than the fluctuations of the gas pressure and geometry, while the group replacement of worn sections is well justified from the life of service and related costs
