Etude du vieillissement de cellules solaires photovoltaïques plastiques

Abstract : This work concerns the degradation under photochemical and thermal aging of MDMO-PPV and PCBM in the presence and absence of oxygen. In photo-oxidation, the process of degradation of MDMO-PPV causes deconjugation of the polymer. The results obtained allowed us to propose a degradation mechanism whose initiation was attributed to the superoxide anion. Without oxygen, the illumination also causes the saturation of double bonds but with a much lower speed (factor 1000). For mixing MDMO-PPV: PCBM, both components are degraded simultaneously. The presence of PCBM in the active layer contributes to improved stability of the polymer mainly thanks to its "radical trap". In photo-oxidation degradation of the polymer is slowed by a factor of 15 and photolysis of chemical structure changes are minimal after 3700 hours of artificial accelerated aging
