Etude du comportement dynamique et optimisation d'absorbeurs non linéaires : théorie et expérience

Abstract : The concept of pumping energy which has inspired many studies for now a decade, seems to be an interesting dynamic phenomenon likely to urge the development of great innovations. Nonlinear absorbers designed according to this principle proved to be very robust and efficient in numerous resonant cases by comparison with their standard linear counterpart. Eventual transfer from theory to a real application requires a methodology for optimizing nonlinear vibration absorbers similar to the case of linear absorbers. Present PhD thesis highlights new analytical and/or pseudo analytical criteria for designing optimal nonlinear stiffness of nonlinear absorbers. Following our design rules, we introduce a real application of this new generation of nonlinear absorbers aimed to mitigate vibration in a Peugeot 307-CC car model induced by the first torsional mode of the car body. Present work that is also contracted with Peugeot/Citroën industrial car manufacturer aims to reduce the payload due to the attachment of two dampers by considering a nonlinear technology instead. Analytical and numerical studies are achieved in parallel with a dynamic testing campaign led on the ESTACA prototype simulating torsion mode of the vehicle of concern. Preliminary results happen to confirm promising starts for using NES absorbers in a real case. A wavelet numerical software was developed in addition to analyze complex responses of investigated dynamic systems that implement the up to date version of new fast algorithms allowing to make more efficient computations of wavelet scalograms in relationship with dense super-resolution time-frequency grids.
