Potentiels des données de télédétection multisources pour la cartographie géologique : Application à la région de Rehoboth (Namibie)

Abstract : Remote sensing data in the Visible and Infrared domains and Gamma ray data have a potential for the geological mapping. This potential is evaluated on the example of the geological map of Rehoboth, semi arid region of Namibia in sedimentary context. A determination method of geological layers boundaries is proposed from a combination of multispectral ASTER data (3 bands in the Visible and Near Infrared, 6 bands in the Short Waves Infrared), hyperspectral HYPERION data (242 bands from Visible to Short Waves Infrared) and Gamma ray data (K, U, Th). This method permits to precise the geometry of the map. Then the potential of HYPERION data has been estimated for the identification and quantification of lithologies from two techniques : the N-FindR method and the Independent Components Analysis (ICA). The tests show that the ICA method allows to identify with more reliability the lithological components present in a pixel.
