La stérilité féminine Prise en charge actuelle en France

Abstract : 15 to 20 % of french couples must seek professional help for problems of fertility. The principal etiologies of female sterility are problems of ovulation, salpingitis, endometriosis, DES, problems with cervical mucus and deformations of the cervix. A complete, precise and methodological study of the individual female is required in order to find the origin of the problem so as to apply the most adapted treatment. The treatment of sterility is done essentially with surgery and throuth ovulation stimulation. In the case of repeated failure, medicinal assisted procreation can be proposed to couples. Intra-uterine insemination and classic in vitro fertilization are two principal techniques indicated in cases of female sterility. Despite scientific progress, one third of sterile couples are not able to conceive through the various medicinal methods. In order to achieve a couple's desire to become parents, one must resort either to gamete or embryon donations or adoption.
