L'histoire des sciences : un laboratoire pour la recherche en didactique et l'enseignement de la physique

Abstract : Since 2004, my work has been developed in two quite distinct areas of research in physics education: the first one is a continuation of my PhD and arises as a contribution for exploring the links between history of physics and physics education research; the second one concerns an area of research in physics education little explored. It aims to clarify some issues related to the learning of the relativistic kinematics. This second line of research was developed in the context of a research program (EVEILS) suported by the French National Researche Agency (ANR) which is referred to the development of learning scenarios for an 3D-immersive virtual environment. Behind the apparent disjunction of these two approaches lies a common goal. In both cases students' difficulties and the arguments they implement to solve a particular physical situation are used for the development of educational scenarios. In one case , they will aim to address elements of history of physics, in the other case, they will allow to approach some aspects of relativistic physics (non-simultaneity of events, distortion space objects ...) through the use a 3D immersive virtual environment. Issues related to assessing the impact of the implementation of these scenarios on learning emerge in the first case as in the other.
