L'Assemblée générale de l'ONU de 1985 à nos jours : acteur et reflet du Système-Monde. Essai de géographie politique quantitative

Abstract : Geography, both French and English, barely studied the function of major international institutions, and specially the United Nations (UN) system. The UN General Assembly provides, however, a key place to highlightWorld-System's dynamics. Using methods from network, spatial and textual analysis, this thesis examines votes and sponsorship of resolutions, speeches strategies, and tensions between national, regional and global levels from 1985 until 2010. In addition to this comprehensive study, some parts focus specifically on a theme, that of human rights, and an actor, European Union, considered here in a comparative perspective.
