Reconfiguration des réseaux de transport et Renouveau urbain. L'enjeu d'un urbanisme orienté vers le rail

Abstract : A sustainable development demands a reduction of the consumption of space created by urban sprawl, depending of the automobile dependency. This work discusses possibilities for reconfiguration of networks and space in order to develop an urban renewal. Densification and transit oriented development (TOD) seem to be efficient in order to fulfil these issues, using the potential of the disused railway areas. TOD and densification demand cooperation and observation of land management and transport. Decision making tools have been created in order to promote the development of a rail-oriented urbanism within the French-German project BahnVille 2.
