Dialogue modèle-expérience et stratégie d'identification en mécanique du solide. Application à la mise en forme des matériaux.

Abstract : Many industries have invested in numerical simulation in order to reduce production costs, to shorten the duration of design and manufacturing and to increase the robustness of processes. This objective presents significant challenges to the mechanical community insofar as it is necessary to set up reliable and efficient models that can reproduce the mechanical behavior of materials. The undertaken studies are part of this process and mix both experimental analysis and numerical modeling. Firstly, following a classical approach based on (i) tests with digital image correlation technique, (ii) appropriate modeling and (iii) use of models and their associated parameters, it is shown how the results of numerical simulations agree with experiment. Two examples are presented, one within the biomedical domain, another from packaging industry. Beyond this approach, a finite element model updating method using both kinematic and thermal field measurements is secondly presented. This inverse identification method is applied on tests that generate heterogeneous strain fields, for some of them out-of-plane, always for the purpose of identifying the thermo-mechanical behavior of titanium. The results highlight the interest of this technique to identify a larger number of parameters than in the above discussed studies based on classical homogeneous tests.
