Tuyère Diphasique à Jet de Brouillard

Abstract : High velocity spray-jets have demonstrated their high efficiency in fire fighting. The concept presented here comprises a two-phase flow nozzle that directly expands a liquid-gas mixture (water + compressed-air). These two components are mixed, almost at rest, at the pressure of a conventional industrial networks (5 to 10 bars). The nozzle design is such that the exit jet presents two characteristics : high velocity and very fine dispersion. The aim of this work is to develop models to describe the flow expansion into the nozzle and the free jet developped downstream the exhaust section. Various measuring instruments (droplet size, velocity) are implemented to allow a comparison with numerical simulations.
