Abstract : Contribution to the study of diagnosis and fault tolerant control by the structural approach - application to biological processes Abstract: This thesis concerns the study of fault diagnosis and reconfiguration using an approach based on the structural analysis and their applications on a model of wastewater treatment. The first part is a brief overview of research dedicated to the diagnosis and fault tolerant control, and then the tools of structural analysis are presented. This structural approach is used for the faults detection and isolation, and for the structure reconfiguration. For structural diagnosis, the important step is to look for MSO sets used in the generation of residues. The comparison of some algorithms for these sets was made to select the most effective method. The chosen method is developed by krysander et al. The study of MSO sets is done in the over-determined subsystem. To improve the structural isolability, two methods are used: the first is to consider some faults as internal variables of the system and the second is to add sensors. For structural reconfiguration, it is based on structural properties of observability and controllability. Our objective is to find the system structure that allows us to keep the structural properties unchanged. In the application study of our methods, the actuators faults associated with the recycled sludge flow rate (Qr) and the excess sludge flow rate (Qw) and , the faults of parameters associated with maximum growth rate of biomass (uH, max ) and Michaelis Menten constant (Ks) are considered.
