Contribution de l'analyse électromyographique des muscles des membres supérieurs pour l'entraînement au saut à la perche

Abstract : This work aims at defining the muscular activity of selected muscles during a pole vault and elements on the high bar, from wavelets transformed EMG. It compares (1) the muscular coordination of each upper-limb during the vault and defines (2) their influence on performance. These muscular activations (3) are compared with those from exercises on the high bar. The results show that the muscles activity influences mostly the vault performance when the pole is bending, whereas the ultimate muscular actions before bar clearance are mainly involved to control the reversed position of the vaulter. Finally, gymnastics elements on the high bar induce similar muscles activations as studied during pole vaulting, with the determination of functional groups of muscles. Dealing with performance optimization, this research identifies new performance factors in pole vaulting and validate obvious training methods widely used by coaches but without any scientific proofs up to now.
