Schepanski, EUMETSAT offre un produit pour les scènes MSG basé sur les différences de températures de brillance (http://www.eumetsat.int) La composition colorée réalisée (IR12.0-IR10.8/IR10.8-IR8.7/IR10.8) par superposition de deux canaux obtenus par combinaison des bandes spectrales de l'IR thermique et du canal thermique 10.8 µm est recommandée pour l'identification et le suivi des tempêtes de sable, µm fournit une information sur les nuages depoussì eres. La différence 10.8-8.7 informe sur les cirrus fin et les nuages depoussì eres. Le canal 8.7 µm permet la détermination de la température du sommet des nuages. Cette combinaison renseigne sur la température du sommet des nuages, ainsi que sur l'´ epaisseur optique (degré de transparence) de la couche atmosphérique. Cela permet de distinguer les différents types de nuages et lespoussì eres et aérosols en suspension dans l'atmosphère, 1997.

Cette signature est observée aussi bien au-dessus de l'océan qu'au-dessus du continent. Audessus de 14?N14?N sur le continent, la BTD 10?12 peut cependantêtrecependantêtre influencée par l'´ emissivité de surface qui contribue de façon différente sur les deux longueurs d'onde.
