Étude des cirrus dans la zone tropicale Sud de l'océan Indien à partir des données lidar de la Réunion : analyse comparative des méthodes de restitution et étude de la variabilité saisonnière et diurne

Abstract : Cirrus cloud are one of the major sources of uncertainty in climate evolution because they can contribute to the heating or cooling of the planet. The aim of this thesis was to exploit the OPAR lidar dataset. The combination of lidar retrieval methods allows the determination of optical depth with more accuracy. The tool allows us to obtain the effective lidar ratio which depends on the clouds microphysics. The tool was used for the exploitation of the lidar database. The analysis showed the seasonal variation of the cirrus cloud occurrence. A single case study was conducted concerning the temporal variability. The coupling between the optical properties retrieved and the meso-scale modelling from the Méso-NH model shows that the radiative and microphysical processes occur and interact during the cirrus clouds evolution and in their life time.
